One Year Later

One year ago today, I decided I didn’t really want to be fat anymore, and was going to lose 35 pounds in the next year. I didn’t quite make it, but I can say that I’m probably in better shape now than at any time since that last high school water polo game. I seriously […]

Sunday Runday

Now that my endurance is (nearly) where I want it, I’m trying to build in some pacing work. This is a course record for me.

Booyah

Suck it, everyone who hasn’t lost 10% of their body weight.

Being unemployed is pretty much cheating.

We Need New Units

Don’t get me wrong, I love SI, but those tend to lack the punch of, say, a Smoot.

So, I had to wait 1.8 Freebirds for a treadmill today. I should know better than to go to the gym on a Saturday in January.

2:17:11.1

So, I ran a half marathon. On a 10’28” pace, which is… mediocre, considering what I’d been doing in training. Actually I don’t think it’s a good representation of my overall fitness. My 10K split was almost exactly an hour, meaning that I was well on my way to finishing under my 2:11:00 goal – […]

King of the Bonk-o

I bonked today. Almost an hour and a half into my last distance run before the mini, I started salivating, which I thought was weird; if anything I was getting pretty dehydrated by that point. A few minutes later I started to feel nauseated, and a few minutes after that my face and hands went […]

Holy Cramp

I went out this morning intending to do 7 miles, but right around the one mile mark something happened that has literally never happened to me before: my legs cramped up. I made it about a mile and a half before I had to stop and walk home. I’m pretty sure I can chalk this […]
